Module 10 in the course Open Science in the Swedish Context

This module invites critical reflection on current and emerging challenges in the research environment — including the commodification of research, myths around big data and AI, issues of research quality and reliability, and power imbalances rooted in colonialism, racism, and discrimination. It explores how different conceptual approaches to Open Science can combat these challenges, contrasting the traditional object-oriented view (focused on outputs) of Open Science with a process-oriented perspective that emphasises openness as the co-production of knowledge. Participants are encouraged to consider how Open Science seen as a practice of judicious connection can support more inclusive and equitable research.
