Slides presented at the 'Handling Pandemic Omics Data in the Nordics' event on 19th May 2022. Event organised by SciLifeLab Data Centre, ELIXIR Norway, ELIXIR Estonia, and ELIXIR Sweden.

Th Swedish COVID-19 Data Portal ( was launched in June 2020, making it the first national COVID-19 Data Portal to go live.

The portal was launched with multiple aims. The primary aim was to support the open sharing of data and code related to COVID-19 and SARS-CoV-2 from Swedish institutions. Other aims include the promotion of work that has been openly shared, support for data mangement, and raising awareness of ongoing research efforts and funding.

In 2022, the portal has begun to transition into becoming the Swedish COVID-19 and Pandemic Preparedness Portal. The portal will therefore begin to show more resources related to pandemic presparedness and infectious diseases besides SARS-CoV-2.

This talk focuses in particular on omics data on the portal, but the information is broadly applicable to other types of data.
